Nydia Akins joins the Executive Board for GGPA
Nydia Akins was recently sworn in as an Executive Board member for the Georgia Grants Professionals Association (GGPA). The non-profit organization builds and supports an international community of grant professionals committed to serving the greater public good by practicing the highest ethical and professional standards. In her role, Akins will support GGPA's efforts in providing members with grant writing resources throughout the state of Georgia.
Akins currently serves as Executive Assistant to the City Manager of Union City and Program Coordinator of the City’s Youth Leadership Council. Her current responsibilities include her role as a communications liaison between the City Manager’s office, City staff and outside constituencies while providing administrative support to ensure effective day-to-day operations of the City Manager’s Office.
As a graduate of Johnson and Wales University, Akins holds a Bachelor of Science Management Degree and completed a Study Abroad Program in Belgium to get a broader perspective of business operations. Nydia has served in vital roles at WPBT Channel 2, Georgia Institute of Technology and Delta Air Lines.
