Post Date:04/29/2019 4:17 PM

On Saturday, April 25th, Atlanta’s most accomplished and influential African American women were celebrated by Atlanta Tribune: The Magazine and Atlanta Daily Word. This sought-after event was held at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta.

Among those recognized was Union City council member Shayla J. Nealy for her outstanding leadership and contributions in the community. As one of the City’s final decision makers, Nealy devotes her time to problems of basic policy and is a liaison between the City and the general public. She is a noted panelist, mentor and supporter of many community initiatives.

In addition to her most recent accolade for Woman of Excellence, council member Nealy has received several accolades for her efforts and continues to show her ability to be civically engaged and work place efficient. She has utilized the wealth of knowledge from service affiliations and work experiences to hold a variety of leadership roles with professional organizations.

Currently, council member Nealy is the Director of Infrastructure Programming for Wendel, a nationally recognized design, construction and energy services company (ESCO), where she plans, schedules and oversees any engineering related work, manages daily infrastructure operations and Business Development components of the Atlanta Office.
