The Fire Marshal's Office reviews all new and remodeling plans for businesses within Union City.

Their review consists of ensuring that all Fire and Life Safety Codes, as well as Americans with Disabilities Act requirements are met.  By reviewing the plans the Department is able to identify potential problems prior to the start of construction, assisting the builder in avoiding unnecessary losses of time and money.

The Fire Marshal's Office also conducts site inspections during construction and makes a final inspection prior to issuing a certificate of occupancy; thus ensuring that the structure complies with the appropriate codes.
