If I were Mayor Essay Contest

Post Date:01/30/2020 11:20 AM

Sixth graders in Union City are invited to become city leaders in the UC “If I Were Mayor, I Would . . .” essay contest. The deadline for entries is Monday, February 10, 2020.
The contest is open to all 6th graders, including home schooled students and private school students. The contest is a way for students to begin learning about city government, the role cities play in communities and their responsibilities as leaders.
According to contest rules, every essay must begin with the sentence, “If I were mayor, I would” and essays may not be longer than 350 words. The essay can be either typed or hand written, but must be legible and include the student’s name and school.
One winner will be chosen to receive prizes and be featured in the upcoming February Edition of my Monthly Newsletter. The contest winner will be notified by February 14, 2020.
All essays should be mailed to:
