(click here for official release from Court Services)
Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, Union City Municipal Court will suspend all court hearings for thirty (30) days in accordance with the Judicial Emergency Order signed by Chief Judge Christopher S. Brasher of Fulton County Superior Court and the Atlanta Judicial Circuit. This includes court hearings scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2020. Union City Municipal Court will continue to hold first appearance hearing by video as needed.
As with most of the county and surrounding areas, the city is facing the day-to-day challenge of handling this constant changing pandemic, while trying to protect city employees and the public that we serve. Consequently, for two (2) weeks beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, the Clerks’ office will not be open to the public. Staff will still be available to answer phone calls and emails and we are strongly encouraging the public to use our online payment option (http://unioncitypayments.com) or the toll-free number (1-844-225-0807) for citation payments and court date updates. In addition, the public may send in money orders for outstanding citation fines to Union City Municipal Court, 5060 Union Street, Union City, Georgia 30291. As you can imagine our office is receiving an unusually high volume of phone calls with questions regarding license issues and court date changes, so we recommend that customers email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if it is difficult getting through.
We ask that citizens remain patient and flexible during this time and visit the Court Services page on the City of Union City website frequently for updates.
