Gov. Kemp to Sign Two Executive Orders in Response to COVID-19
At 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, Governor Brian Kemp announced his plans to sign two executive orders: 'Shelter in Place' and K-12 schools to remain closed for the remainder of the school year. The move comes as the statewide - and nationwide - fight to gain control on the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus intensifies.
The 'Shelter in Place' order will go into effect on Friday, April 3 through Friday, April 13. Gov. Kemp said the order will include exceptions for grocery stores, medical supplies and certain manufacturing.
Though schools will close for the remainder of the school year, online learning will continue. The governor's decision to close comes after recommendations from health experts.
