OPEN RECORDS REQUEST PROCEDURE
Union City will comply with the guidelines established by Georgia State Law. All Union City personnel will refer to (O.C.G.A.) 50-18-70 through 77, with regards to honoring all Open Records Request.
To obtain records, please complete and submit a Request for Public Records form to the City Clerk. These forms are available online and at City Hall. All Open Records Request must immediately be forwarded to the City Clerk (Official Records Custodian) to acknowledge receipt of such requests.
Upon receipt of request, the City Clerk’s office will make most requested information available within three (3) business days of the date received in the office, for review by the requestor. The requestor must visit City Hall to review the information available. A verbal request will be honored in the same manner as a written request.
There is a copying charge of $0.10 per page. The requestor may also be subject to administrative charges for search, retrieval, and other direct administrative costs. Associated administrative costs do not exceed the salary of the lowest paid full-time employee who, at the discretion of the custodian of records, has the necessary skill and training to perform the request. The requestor will not be charged for the first fifteen minutes of time. All Open Records Request fees must be received from the requestor upon review of the documents and a decision is made by the requestor.
